Dream Tree, the unbeaten 3-year-old filly, will not start in Saturday's Grade 3 Santa Ysabel Stakes because of a sloppy track, trainer Bob Baffert said Saturday morning.
Baffert said Dream Tree will be pointed for the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks on April 7. Dream Tree is unbeaten in four starts, including the Grade 1 Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos in December. She would have been favored in the the $100,000 Santa Ysabel at 1 1-16 miles.
The absence of Dream Tree leaves Midnight Bisou as a strong favorite in a field of five.
Rain fell throughout Friday and into early Saturday in Southern California.
