If CELESTINE (1) can't win the Sand Springs then I'm not sure she'll ever win another race. She's likely to work out a comfortable trip beneath Jose Ortiz, and on class alone she lays over this field. While she may have lost a few miles per hour on the fastball, her best is still better than anything else these other ladies can throw at her.
As dangerous as SPEED FRANCO (1) is on the front end in the Palm Beach, I was thoroughly impressed by HAWKISH (7) in his debut score for trainer Jimmy Toner. A son of Artie Schiller, this three-year-old rallied into a slow pace and was the only horse making up any ground late. Down the lane he was very green, swapping leads a few times, but all things considered it was a very promising effort. He's the horse I'm most interested in playing at Gulfstream today, and I'm hopeful that Celestine can do her job in the Sand Springs so I can be alive in the double.
