PROMISES FULFILLED pulled an 18-1 upset of the Fountain of Youth, winning the Ky. Derby prep by 2 1/4 lengths over the 7-2 second choice, STRIKE POWER, with 3-5 favorite GOOD MAGIC another 2 1/4 lengths back in third. The winner is owned by Bob Baron and trained by Dale Romans.

Irad Ortiz Jr. got his 5th win on the 14-race card when gunning Promises Fulfilled to the lead from his outside post in the field of 9 and never looking back. Promises Fulfilled, by Shackleford, earned 50 qualifying points into the May 5 Kentucky Derby.

"It's a huge win," said Romans, adding the Florida Derby will be next for Promises Fulfilled.

The full order was 10-4-6-9-8.

There was no solo winner in the Rainbow 6, which ended with the FOY.
