The adage "spring forward, fall back" has been turned on its head at Santa Anita, where on the first day of Daylight Saving's Time the track has an early start time of 11:30 a.m, which was 10:30 yesterday for those still sleeping in.

All the rain yesterday has forced today's grass races onto the main track, and that has produced a number of late scratches. The track is listed as wet-fast with 45 minutes to first post.

The highlight of the day will be seeing if dazzling 3yo debut winner Justify can win an allowance race. race 5, and move on to a major Derby prep and a chance to run for the roses. First things first today, though.
