Seven-pound apprentice Jann Hernandez won back-to-back races at Parx on Monday, including race 8 with Speightman, who paid $107.60.
Speightman, who came into the conditioned $7,500 claimer with a 2 for 40 record for trainer Uriah St. Lewis, broke slowly in the mile and 70-yard race. Hernandez stayed to the inside throughout, worked his way through a narrow opening entering the stretch, and was up to win by a half-length over 5-2 favorite Snowfly.
The $2 exacta paid $419.
Hernandez came back to win race 9 on Richie's Lady ($5).
Since coming to the United States from Puerto Rico in February, Hernandez is 4 for 21 at Parx and Penn National.
