The 20-cent Rainbow 6 began Wednesday with a lukewarm favorite, PADDYS CLASS ($7.40), winning the first leg of the sequence by out-legging 8 other mdn.-claiming fillies on the grass. Leading jockey Luis Saez was up for trainer Dale Romans and owner-breeder Frank Jones Jr.
New wagers totaled $457,606, chasing the jackpot of more than $3.1 million. The Rainbow 6 jackpot has not been emptied by a solo winner since nearly $20 million was dispersed Jan. 28 in a mandatory forceout.
