Wonderful Light got the job done at 1-5 in the seventh race at Laurel Park on Friday, defeating second choice Polar Jet by about a half-length.
The 4-year-old half-brother to the Grade 1 filly-mare sprinter By the Moon paid $2.60 in the first-level allowance sprint. Like By the Moon, he is trained by Michelle Nevin and owned and bred by the Jay Em Ess Stable of Samantha Siegel.
Wonderful Light was timed in 1:09.86 under jockey Jevian Toledo. She had $30,343 of the $40,340 show pool wagered on her.
