Seven-pound apprentice Wes Hamilton swept the early daily double at Laurel Park on Saturday by keeping both of his mounts to the inner rail as his competition fanned out entering the stretch.
Zesty Zar paid $14 in race 1, Sweethearted paid $28.40 in race 2, and the $2 double returned $145.40.
The rail is generally not the place to be at Laurel as wide, sweeping moves often prove most effective. Today's five-stakes card could be the exception.
