The stewards fined Dylan Davis $500 for misuse of the crop during the running of Friday's fourth race when he finished second aboard the late running Very Very Stella.

The stewards deemed that Davis hit Very Very Stella seven consecutive times with the whip, which is in excess of state rule 4035.9 (D). Though I just looked up that rule and it doesn't say anything about how many times a jockey may hit a horse before it's deemed excessive.
