Asmussen strikes with 3-year-old over a mile and an eighth

Ego Trip ($13.60) won a three-way battle to the wire in a maiden allowance over a mile and an eighth Saturday at Oaklawn. He covered the distance on a fast track in 1:51.04. Ricardo Santana, Jr., was aboard for Gary and Mary West and trainer Steve Asmussen. 

The Money Dance was second and Twist Off, third. The Money Dance came into the race off a runner-up finish to Pryor, who is to run back later on the card in the Rebel.

Art's Table was pulled up on the backstretch and vanned off.
