Tenfold ($3.20) remained undefeated in two starts when he won a stretch battle over Navistar in the featured eighth race Sunday at Oaklawn. The mile and a sixteenth feature for 3-year-olds went in 1:44.16.
Ricardo Santana, Jr., rode Tenfold for Winchell Thoroughbreds and trainer Steve Asmussen.
Tenfold stalked the pace as Plainsman and Navistar raced together on the lead through fractions of 23.26 seconds for the opening quarter, 47.37 for the half-mile and 1:12.45 for six furlongs. Navistar shook his pace rival but was joined by Tenfold at the quarter pole and the pair carried on through the stretch with Tenfold getting the advantage in the late stages.
Tenfold won his debut earlier in the meet at Oaklawn, in a maiden special weight over a mile and a sixteenth. For that effort he earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 87.
