Jockey Rafael Bejarano, who was dislodged from the stricken Boom Boom Bango in the final race on Sunday at Santa Anita, has been transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena complaining of severe pain in an arm, according to his agent, Tora Yamaguchi.
Bejarano was the second rider injured on Sunday at Santa Anita. Iggy Puglisi appeared to injure an ankle in a starting gate mishap prior to race 5. As of 5 pm Pacific, his agent, Bill Sadoo, said he had not received any updates on Puglisi's condition. Puglisi was taken to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, across the street from the track.
