Testing One Two nicely won the Crescent City Oaks, the first stakes race Saturday at Fair Grounds. Lurking mid-pack under Diego Saenz as Champagne Diva dictated a moderate pace, Testing One Two ($4.20) showed a good turn of foot past the three-eighths pole to reach contention, and she pushed past Champagne Diva in midstretch with little issue. Trained by Victor Arceneaux for the Brittlyn Stable, Testing One Two ran one mile 70 yards over a fast track in 1:43.21, which, if the track is producing average times, is solid. Testing One Two, who was scratched from the Fair Grounds Oaks today in favor of this spot, is easily the best Louisiana-bred 3-year-old filly going. She washed out before the Rachel Alexandra Stakes and raced on a fast pace, which doesn't seem like her style. It would've been interesting to see her get her preferred stalking trip facing open competition last month.
