Conquest Sandman took advantage of a speed favoring turf course, holding off several challenges to capture the 11th race while continuing to improve for trainer Juan Carlos Abarrio, who took the turf specialist for a bargain $16,000 earlier in the meet.  Conquest Sandman, fourth in the Grade 3 Canadian Turf in his previous start, was entered under a $62.500 tag today. Rocketry, the heavy favorite, could not overcome a very eventful trip and worth tabbing back next time when returning to New York.
