Hennessy Express won the $100,000 New Mexico Breeders' Oaks, the first of seven stakes to be run Sunday at Sunland Park. The main event is the Grade 3, $800,000 Sunland Derby. 

Hennessy Express ($4.20) set the pace and comfortably kept Movin On at bay while covering a mile and a sixteenth on a fast track in 1:44.31. 

Roimes Chirinos was aboard for trainer Todd Fincher. Later on the card, Fincher has Runaway Ghost in the Sunland Derby. He also will saddle Kram in the Sunland Park Oaks.
