Flat Calm made up for a disappointing debut run in the sixth race at Aqueduct on Friday by galloping to a lengthy victory over four hapless rivals going a mile.
Flat Calm finished fifth of seven in her debut at 2-1 on March 9. Trainer Linda Rice equipped the daughter of Flatter with blinkers friday and she outsprinted three horsers for the lead and then won easily under jockey Junior Alvarado.
Flat Calm paid $6.20 as a narrow favorite over Out of Orbit, who finished last.
