Rudy Rodriguez was disqualified out of his 1,000th career win in the seventh at Aqueduct on Friday after Son of Mine, held on to defeat Professor Snape in the 6 1/2-furlong, $50,000 starter.
Son of Mine, the least favored half of a Rodriguez-trained entry, held the lead over Professor Snape during the stretch run to win by a nose or a head, but he came outward several strides before the wire under jockey Joshua Navarro and pushed Professor Snape out.
The stewards lit the inquiry sign after the finish, and then Joe Bravo, the rider of professor Snape, lodged an objection against Son of Mine. After a lengthy review, the stewards reversed the order of finish.
Professor Snape, who is trained by Antonio Arraiaga, paid $8.60.
Rodriguez has starters coming up in races 8 and 9.
