Reason to Soar off the bench to get Florida Derby day underway

Reason to Soar ran well off the bench here to win his career debut here last winter and he duplicated that feat in the opener of the 14 race Florida Derby card, holding off longshot Transistor to win the opener at a well backed 3-1 for trainer George Weaver, Jose Ortiz aboard.  The outing was the first for the 4-year-old son of Soaring Empire since July 21.
