2017 Kentucky Derby winner ALWAYS DREAMING (2) makes his four-year-old debut in the upcoming Hardacre Mile at Gulfstream Park, and let's be honest - it's anyone's guess what we'll get from the son of Bodemeister. After rolling in the Florida Derby, Always Dreaming took advantage of an inside-favoring track at Churchill Downs to win the Kentucky Derby; after the Derby, the wheels fell off. Always Dreaming hasn't been seen since last summer's Travers, and at his current price (6/5) I'll take a hard stand against.
I like TOMMY MACHO (5) this afternoon, and I think he's offering a very fair price (7/2). A winner last out in the Fred Hooper on 1/27, Tommy Macho has the ability to sit just off the pace and commence a sustained bid; he's far from the flashiest runner in this field, but if he runs the way he did in the Hooper, I think he'll win. I'll play him at odds of 2-1 or greater.
