Total handle on Gulfstream Park's 14-horse field was a record $49,909,070 (exclusive of Breeders' Cup days). The previous Gulfstream record handle was $41.9 million set on Pegasus Day (Jan. 27).

Saturday's handle was an increase of 63-percent over last year's Florida Derby Day total handle of $30,614,677.

The bulk of the increase was the fact that it was a mandatory disbursement of the Rainbow-6 pool. Handle on that wager on Saturday was $16,583,425. In 2017, on Florida Derby day, Rainbow-6 handle was $1,045,673 when it was not a mandatory payout.
