The $50,000 Miranda Diane Stakes won by Defy on Monday at Will Rogers Downs was run in thick fog and due to the conditions the official chart of the race does not provide fractional times or a final time for the six furlong race for fillies and mares.
John Lies, the racing secretary at Will Rogers, said at this point the track will recognize a final time of 1:09.48. Lies, who also is the announcer, hand-timed the race from the break as he called it Monday. He said he could see the final eighth of a mile on television, and clocked that fraction as 11.81 seconds.
The fog became thick shortly before the start of the Miranda Diane.
