Red Ruby, the winner of the Martha Washington in February at Oaklawn, will miss the Grade 3, $400,000 Fantasy, trainer Kellyn Gorder said Friday. The Fantasy is a Kentucky Oaks points race to be run next Friday at Oakawn as part of the Racing Festival of the South. 

Gorder said Red Ruby sustained superficial cuts on a hind leg Thursday after she spooked and hit a metal ladder in the barn. The attached ladders are standard in the local barns, enabling horsemen to reach storage areas above the stalls at Oaklawn. 

"She's going to miss a few days of training," Gorder said. "Unfortunately, she's going to be out of the race."
