Saturday's Grade 2 Kona Gold Stakes has been delayed by a few minutes while track and veterinarian personnel care for Zapana's Game, who appeared to suffer effects from a warm day after the fourth race.
Zapana's Game was being walked back to the stables when he collapsed on the racetrack. He was hosed with water for several minutes before rising and then falling again. After a few more minutes, Zapana's Game was walked to the stables but showed signs of being unsteady.
Zapana's Game, trained by Dan Dunham, finished fifth in the fourth race for $25,000 claimers on turf as an 85-1 outsider.
