Santa Anita Oaks winner Midnight Bisou posted her final major workout in advance of the Kentucky Oaks, working six furlongs Saturday morning at 4:30. Working over a slow, heavy racing surface, Midnight Bisou was timed in 1:13.80.
“That’s a helluva work,” jockey Martin Pedroza said. “She galloped out strong, too.” Mike Smith is Midnight Bisou’s regular rider.
Pedroza and Midnight Bisou were easy to see. Pedroza was wearing a light on his helmet.
Spawr said Midnight Bisou will school at the gate on Sunday, ship to Churchill Downs on Monday, and gallop into the Oaks. Spawr plans to blow her out a quarter-mile through the stretch on Thursday, the day before the Oaks.
