Bugle Notes likely gave those that backed him to 4-5 quite a few nervous moments during the running of the third race at Churchill Downs - spotting the field a few lengths at the start and having to be nudged along by John Velazquez to advance four wide - but he got the job done in pulling clear late over 15-1 outsider Bueno Bueno Bueno.
As well as this horse ran in running six furlongs in 1:10.06, he should be capable of much better going forward. He lost considerable ground around the turn, and of course was playing catchup after the start. Even down the lane, one got the impression watching him that he didn't fully extend himself.
A 3-year-old son of Ghostzapper, he has an exciting future - likely a stakes winner in the making.
