Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen could hit a milestone of 8,000 Thoroughbred wins in North America on Friday night at Lone Star Park. He would become just the second trainer to achieve the feat behind the late Dale Baird. 

Asmussen has horses in four races and enters the card with 7,997 wins. Asmussen's first starter on the program comes in the third race, with Fudge Proud. He also has starters in the seventh, eighth and ninth races at Lone Star.
