They'll run the Kentucky Derby for the 144th time here today, and with the very light, intermittent showers we've had this morning, everyone is wondering what the weather will be throughout the day and what the track condition will be when the Derby is run at about 6:50 ET.
The best guesses have it "spitting, off and on all day," as my colleague Byron King just said, referring to multiple forecasts. That means the turf course most likely stays firm, if shading to "good," while the main track most likely will be harrowed and fast, although we'll be providing updates as warranted here on DRF Live.
First post is 10:30 a.m., with the Derby going as race 12 and the last race (R14) at 8:20.
Not many scratches to report, so virtually all of your advance handicapping goes as-is. Here they are:
R4-(all AEs); R8-(6); R9-(12, 15); R12-(21); R13-(4); R14-(1A, 3, 10).
