Mike Luzzi, thrown when Desert Affair broke down in race 1 at Belmont on Sunday, dusts himself off and comes back to win with his next mount in race 3.

Luzzi won the six-furlong maiden race on Mad Dog Matters, who is trained by Carlos Martin and paid $21.80 in the six-horse field.

The win broke a zero for 87 skid dating back to Oct. 15, 2017 for Luzzi, who is 48.
