Seven of the 14 races at Pimlico on Friday were originally scheduled for turf, but due to the persistent rain that has enveloped the area this week, races 2, 6, and 8 have been moved to the main track.
Races 4, 10, 12, and 14 remain on the turf, for now.
Rain is predicted throughout the day but the precipitation totals have been lowered. AccuWeather now predicts .68 inches of rain in Baltimore today. Periods of heavy rain are possible, as are thunderstorms. Tonight could bring another .61 inches of rain, putting the six Preakness Day turf races in jeopardy. Those races include The Grade 2 Dixie, Grade 3 Gallorette, and James W. Murphy.
The Friday races taken off the turf were an optional-claiming race and two allowances.
The Friday races still on grass are a maiden race, the Jim McKay Turf Sprint, the Hilltop Stakes, and a last race allowance.
