Longshots dominated the results on the eight-race card. Skye Chernetz won on two of them in the second and third: Hassah ($48) and Golden Pineapple ($17.40). Both were both shippers from Tampa.
Screenwriter took the fourth at 18-1, and Neil's Diamond ran down the favored Wild Parade in the stretch to win the fifth at 12-1.
Final Copy ($16.90) wired the field in the sixth, the allowance prep for the G3 Singspiel Stakes. He capped a Pick 5 that paid $2,456 for 4 of 5 on the 20-cent base wager.
After setting soft fractions in the 10-furlong allowance, Final Copy held off another Roger Attfield charge, the favored Danish Dynaformer to prevail by daylight. Noble Thought ran evenly for third, and Scholar Athlete was a flat fouth over the comebacking champion, Johnny Bear.
David Moran doubled up. The hot trainer Francine Villeneuve captured the nightcap with a razor-sharp Graced Lightning, who was returning from a two-year layoff under Rafael Hernandez.
The Jackpot Hi 5 carryover heading into Saturday is $4K.
