Home Base, a fast first-level allowance winner at Churchill Downs on Saturday, could be bound for the Grade 3 Matt Winn on Stephen Foster night at Churchill on June 16, trainer Mike Tomlinson told track publicity. That race would represent a class and distance test for the colt, who despite a staying pedigree, was badly outrun in a prior race around two turns at the 1 1/16-mile distance of the Matt Winn.

The June 16 card at Churchill is headed by the Grade 1, $500,000 Stephen Foster Handicap, one of five stakes on the evening.

Tomlinson has been rolling at the Churchill meet, winning with 10 of 21 starters thru Saturday.
