It is approaching 100 degrees in North Texas, with the main track at Lone Star Park anticipated as fast, and the turf, firm, for the nine-race card that gets underway at 2:35 p.m. Central.
The card includes the first starter for the Lone Star Park Racing Club, a track initiative designed to serve as an introduction to racehorse ownership. Lodi Street (7) goes for the group in the sixth race and Lane Luzzi has the mount for trainer J.R. Caldwell. The action Saturday also is scheduled to include an appearance by Bello Nock, a national act who, among other stunts, specializes in shooting himself out of a cannon - or something of the like. He's also in town for the card Sunday.
