Jonathan Thomas has had quite the week and the best horse he trains doesn't run for another 90 minutes.

Thomas had Orrecchiette ready to run off a six-month layoff asa he outdueled Samara to win this $40K claimer. Orecchiette was making her first start for a claiming price.

Thomas has won with five of his last eight starters beginning with Honor Life, who won a maiden $12,500 claimer at Gulfstream on May 26. Thomas won a race at Gulfstream on Thursday, he won a race at Belmont and Gulfstream on Friday before Orecchiette's victory.

Thomas has Catholic Boy to run in the Pennine Ridge Stakes later on the card.

As we wrote earlier in the week, Thomas plans to have a string at Saratoga this summer.
