Jockey Nik Juarez did something I have never seen before. When he lost his whip mid-stretch he reached up and grabbed a set of goggles off his helmet and used them to urge Sammie Sunshine to a two-length victory in the 6-furlong sprint. Not sure if Sammie Sunshine really needed the extra incentive as it appeared he had the race won when Juarez lost his whip. It was interesting to watch, though.
