Crossing the Blues appeared to clip heels nearing the far turn of race 5 at Laurel Park, falling and unseating jockey Yomar Ortiz.

Neither Ortiz or Crossing the Blues appeared badly hurt in the 1 1/16-mile turf race. Ortiz got to his feet shortly after the spill and Crossing the Blues ran off and was caught by an outrider.

The $16,000 maiden-claiming race was won by Conquest Falcon ($5), who is trained by King Leatherbury. The Hall of Fame horseman also saddled Out of Juice ($22.40) for a Sunday victory.
