Silver Ride gamely held off favored Wonderful Light to win the featured eighth race Friday at Belmont Park, a race that marked the return of Stallwalkin’ Dude, who ran third.
Silver Ride’s victory – in which he covered six furlong on a fast track in 1:09.81 – gave jockey Luis Saez and trainer Brian Lynch their second victories of the day. The winner paid $21.60.
Millionaire Stallkwalkin’ Dude, unraced since winning the Fall Highweight in November at Aqueduct, ran well in his first start at age 8, rallying wide into contention before proving unable to gain significant ground on the top two down the lane. He was beaten approximately a length and a half.
