Trainer Doug O'Neill had a strong run at the Santa Anita spring-summer meeting with 2-year-olds, winning six races.
For the three-week summer meeting at Los Alamitos, O'Neill figures to run numerous maidens. His main clients - Paul and Zillah Reddam - live nearby, and the stable has ample 2-year-olds that have yet to run.
In the fourth race on Thursday, O'Neill runs the first-time starter Dichotomy (6) who is by Square Eddie. Dichotomy has worked well at SAnta Anita in recnt weeks for this maiden race for Cal-bred 2-year-old fillies.
The expected favorite is Scatapulp (7), who lost to the O'Neill-trained Lippy in a maiden race at Santa Anita on June 14.
