Silvercents, a 2-year-old filly by Goldencents, has earned a preliminary Beyer Speed Figure of 70 for winning a maiden special weight Sunday at Lone Star Park. The number is the 10th highest for a 2-year-old filly so far this year in North America, according to statistics from Daily Racing Form.
Silvercents was making the second start of her career in the five furlong race Sunday and she stalked the pace before going on to a four and three-quarter length win. Silvercents covered the distance on a fast track in 59.40 seconds. Sasha Risenhoover was aboard for trainer Terry Eoff.

Silvercents is from the multiple stakes-winning mare Carl's Frosty Gal, an earner of $323,053 who has produced a stakes winner in My Miss Chiff ($184K). Eoff and Johnny Evans co-own Silvercents, who was bred in Louisiana.
