Chickatini ($9) led throughout Friday's fifth race, for maiden fillies and mares, to win for the first time in her seventh start.
Chickatini finished about 1 1-2 lengths in front of 4-5 favorite Convince, finihsing a mile in 1:36.81. Evin Roman, the champion apprentice jockey of 2017, rode the winner.
Chickatini was challenged by Convince in the final furlong, but held her advantage even though Roman dropped his whip in the final sixteenth. Roman has won twice in Friday's first five races.
Roman rides Daddy's Mistress (5) in the sixth race for maiden claimers at five furlongs.
