The apprentices Asa Espinoza and Heriberto Figueroa are first and second in the standings. Edgar Payeras, who claims five pounds, won his second race on Saturday aboard Go Ghetto ($7.80) in the sixth. He goes for a hat trick in the upcoming seventh race on Majestic Diva (10).

In the ninth race, Payeras rides Skagit River (8).
