Pickett ($7.40) became the first stakes winner for freshman sire Goldencents with his nine-length win in the $75,000 colts and geldings division of the D.S. "Shine" Young Futurity on Saturday night at Evangeline Downs. He covered five and a half furlongs on a fast track in 1:05.37. Tim Thornton was aboard for trainer Glenn Delahoussaye.

In the $75,000 fillies division, Atchata ($3.60) was all alone at the wire, covering the distance in 1:06.25. Diego Saenz was aboard for trainer Steve Asmussen.
