There are four $50,000 stakes races on the 10-race card that begins at 2:10 p.m. Pacific.
Kicking off the All Stakes Pick 4 in Race 5 is the Mt. Rainier where Riser will be a short price to win the 1 1/16 miles race for 3-year-olds and up. The Mt. Rainier is the final local prep for the Grade 3, $200,000 Longacres Mile on Aug. 12.
The next two races are for 2-year-olds with Aikman Juliet and Senoradiablo the logical horses in the Angie C. for fillies in the Race 6. Baja Sur could be tough to handle if he breaks alertly from the rail in the King County for colts and gledings. First-time starter Jack Van Berg appears to have some talent as evidenced by his sharp half-miel from the gate in 45.40 seconds on July 8.
The final race in the sequnce is the Boeing and the 1 1/16 miles race for fillies and mares appears to be a wide-open event. With three of the eight horses entered trainer Blaine Wright has an excellent chance of winning the race. Top Quality, who is coming off a win for Wright in the $50,000 Strawberry Morn at Hastings June 16 is the 5-2 morning-line favorite.
