Ray Handal joined Chad Brown with a training double on the card after Calculated Risker(3-1) withstood Evaluator, the longest price on the board in the scratch reduced field of five, to capture the 6th race under jockey Manny Franco.  Handal and Franco also combined to win the 3rd race with Seam.

The main event, the $200,000 Caress up next to be decided over a yielding turf course. Nine of the original 13 entrants will start with Lull, Faypien, Tillie's Lily and main track only entrant Kirby's Penny scratched.
