As noted here a few hours ago, today's wet main track at Saratoga is definitely tilted in favor of speed horses. Subsequent results have confirmed that. But if you haven't been able to capitalize, don't despair. Tracks like this can be a gift that keeps on giving.
Obviously, when today's speed winners run back, you are supposed to downgrade them, unless, of course, they catch another speed-biased wet track.
Conversely, you should upgrade horses who have made runs from off the pace today against the grain of the track. So far, the list of such horses include Top of the Page (who was also herded out about six paths in the stretch) in the fifth race, and Big Muddy in the just completeled seventh race, who, in his very well bet debut, was completely out of it early, only to finish with a big, if belated, late rush.
