After a tough start to the Del Mar meeting, with only one win from his first 14 starters, Jack Carava was successful with his only starter on Saturday - Conquest Typhoon ($10) in the third race for $40,000 claimers.

Carava is on a two-race win streak, having won Friday's eighth and final race. His next runner is Midnight Soot (6) in Sunday's first race.

Carava's stable has had seven wins from 126 starters this year. He's due for a streak of good luck and may be in the midst of a rebound.
