Hyde Park Corner will have her first start in the United States in Friday's fifth race for 2-year-old maiden fillies at a mile on turf.
Judging from her two starts in Ireland, Hyde Park Corner (3) is capable of a win when she starts in a maiden race at a mile for 2-year-old fillies in Friday's fifth race. She was a troubled eighth in a field of 15 in her debut on May 31 and rebounded to finish second by 1 1-2 lengths in her second start at Leopardstown on June 21.
Hyde Park Corner was beaten at Leopardstown by Highland Fortune, who has interesting form in the last six weeks. Highland Fortune was fourth in the Group 2 Railway Stakes at The Curragh on June 30 and was second, by a neck, in the Caravaggio Stakes at Tipperary on Friday as the 5-2 co-favorite.
Hyde Park Corner is now owned by Red Barons Barn and Rancho Temescal and trained by Mark Glatt. The filly has two recorded works since arriving at Del Mar in July.
An Irish-bred by Helmet, Hyde Park Corner is 4-1 on the morning-line and will be ridden by Gary Stevens.
