Apprentice jockey Heriberto Figueroa won his 40th career race, and second of the day on Friday, in the third race, reducing his apprentice claim from seven pounds to five pounds. Figueroa will have an five-pound claim for the remainder of his term as an apprentice, through March 15, 2019.
Figueroa, 18, is currently ranked fifth in the standings with 11 wins, eight less than leader Flavien Prat.
As a result of his 40th win, Figueroa has amended weights in the sixth and eighth races. He will carry 118 pounds on Bea's Boy (7) in the sixth race, and 115 on Easy Peasy (2) in the eighth race.
