Winning Envelope, a first-time-starting 2-year-old filly, was said to have shown a lot of speed in her training. Well - yeah. Under Carlos Marquez Jr. she broke like a rocket, outran favored Kajawa for the lead, took command in upper stretch, and absolutely galloped to a six-length victory in race 5. Winning time for the 5 1/2 furlongs on Polytrack was 1:04.71, which doesn't seem fast, but the Polytrack is dull today. 

The phone of Justin Johns, who trains the filly for Crystal Holsapple, probably is already ringing. Winning Envelope, by More than Ready out of Granby Girl, by Badge of Silver, was purchased for a pittance, just $3,000. She is worth a fair bit more than that after the way she just debuted.
