Call Paul repelled a challenge and a bump from Tight Ten to win the Grade 2, $200,000 Saratoga Spcial by about 1 1-2 lengths. Irad Ortiz Jr. rode Call Paul, the 4-5 favorite, for Jason Servis.
Tight Ten finished second followed by Spinoff and Meade.
Call Paul covered 6 1-2 furlongs in 1:16.55.
The field was reduced to four after Sir Truebadour was scratched in the morning by trainer Steve Asmussen to run in Friday's Skidmore Stakes and Stage Left was ordered scratched by the stewards on the recommendation of the track veterinarian from the paddock.
