The All Stakes Pick 4 starts with the $50,000 WTBOA Lads and the 6-furlong dash for 2-year-old colts and geldings appears to be a wide-open affair.
(7) Helaman is the 7-2 morning-line favorite and is clearly the horse to breat. The Blaine Wright-trained son of Majestic Warrior didn't break that sharply in his debut, but he closed with a rush to finish second behind his stablemate Baja Sur, who came back to romp in the $50,00 King County Express. With a sharp 5 furlong move out the gate in 58.80 on Aug. 6, Wright appears to have him primed for big effort.
The $50,000 Barbara Shinpock is a race where any of the 12 2-year-old-fillies entered could win.
The single in the sequence is the Wright-trained Top Quality who stands out in the $50,000 Emerald Distaff.
(2) Alert Bay, also trained by Wright, is by far the most accomplished horse in the Mile, but he hasn't raced in over a year. I'll use him with last year's Mile runner-up (1) Mach One Rules, and (3) Barkley, who finished second in the $50,000 Mt. Rainier in his last start.
Here's the ticket
Race 5: 4,7,8,9,10
Race 6: 2,5,6,7,8,9
Race 7: 6
Race 8: 1,2,3
